Transportation

Our goal is to provide safe, effective, and economical transportation to meet the IEP needs for every student. Our drivers transport nearly 900 students to over 100 different schools and programs daily - using over 400 bus runs, covering a 1300 square mile area, and traveling over 8,685 miles each day!

We transport special education students to school districts, Intermediate Unit program classrooms, and approved private schools. Portal-to-portal transportation is provided with specialized services and equipment to accommodate the wide array of needs for students with disabilities.

The Intermediate Unit operates a Commonwealth Inspection Station at the CIU20 Transportation Building in Wind Gap, PA for Intermediate Unit owned vehicle inspections. Every student van and school bus is required to be inspected every 6 months. Every school bus is also inspected by the Pennsylvania State Police annually during the months of June through August. Vehicle maintenance and repairs are also performed at the Transportation Building.
