Check & Connect Mentor Training is an in-depth, competency-based training designed to provide Check & Connect mentors with the information, competencies, and skills needed to be an effective Check & Connect mentor at their local site. C&C is a structured, but not scripted mentoring intervention to promote student success and engagement in school. It’s flexibility within the structure to meet individual student needs and adapt to local contexts. C&C is used as an intervention for students showing signs of disengagement (e.g., at risk of dropping out). C&C mentoring is different than more general mentoring programs in that it focuses on student engagement at school and with learning, along with school completion rather than dropout prevention.
