Network Monitoring Tool
The TECHNOLOGY SERVICES DEPARTMENT at CIU20 provides technology support to member districts, career and technology centers and non-Public schools in the Pike, Monroe and Northampton county region of Eastern Pennsylvania. The department is organized around two main functions; Educational Technology and Administrative Technology. Each of these two functions and the services that they provide is further described below. An overarching function of the Technology Services Department is to provide a leadership role with regard to emerging technology and its impact on education and the functioning of schools. Services offered at this level include the following:
Technology Advisory Committee (TAC)
This committee is made up of technology directors representing member districts, career and technology centers, non-Public schools and CIU20 staff. The meetings focus on strategic technology-related topics and the application of technologies in the educational community.
Technology Services Review
CIU20 can provide member entities with a high level review of technology implementation within their district or school. This review would include appraisal of staffing levels, organization, application of financial resources, appropriateness of commitments, funding opportunities, identification of underutilized resources, and other management concerns.
eRate Consultation
CIU20 can provide eRate consultation with regard to reimbursement levels, appeal of denials, application for reimbursement, program reviews, eligible services, application strategies and other issues.
Network Monitoring and Evaluation
CIU20 can provide equipment on loan to districts to monitor and evaluate their networks in the event of attacks, service interruptions, equipment failures, etc.
