Moravian Academy Wins CIU 20 Regional Academic Competition (3/16/2011)
On Friday, March 11, 2011, Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 hosted the annual Regional Academic Competition, an annual competition hosted by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. CIU 20 is pleased to announce the winners of the 2011 CIU 20 Regional Academic Competition:
1st Place Moravian Academy
2nd Place Liberty High School
3rd Place Easton High School
Moravian Academy will be representing the Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 region (Northampton, Monroe and Pike Counties) in the Pennsylvania Academic Competition to be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Pennsylvania State Capital Building in Harrisburg. Moravian Academy will be competing against more than 20 other high schools representing intermediate units from throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
The students that participated from Moravian Academy are Rebecca Askins-Gast, Venus Molony, Cecilia Laughlin, Hannah Ruebeck and Gordon McCambridge (captain) and Michael Boreen. Their advisor is Mr. Thomas Schoeninger.

The students that participated from Liberty High School are James Sheplock, Grant Haines, Ben Kraft (captain), Joey Mathias, and Tom Dexter-Rice. Their advisor is Mr. David Ambrose.

The students that participated from Easton High School are Valerie Pry, Philip Watters (captain), Vicky Kerr, Dakota Williams and Noah Root. Their advisors are Ms. Nancy Smith & Ms. Norma Shriver.

Each of the 29 Intermediate Units in Pennsylvania is invited to select a school from their district to represent them at the state competition.
